Hello! My name is Lori Sander, and I’m the new Assistant Principal at Kruse Elementary School. I am so excited to be a part of the Kruse community this year! After taking one year off to help my husband with his business and supervise student teachers at the University of Northern Colorado, I realized how much I missed supporting students, teachers, and families in an elementary school, and I’ve returned to the world and work that I love and that feeds my soul. I am looking forward to an amazing school year with my new Kruse school family!
I am married to William, who was a 6th-12th grade Social Studies teacher at Prairie Junior and Senior High Schools in New Raymer (on the eastern plains). About 10 years ago, he started a specialty business selling vintage car upholstery (specifically for Studebakers). That business keeps him so busy that he left his teaching job two years ago to focus on that. We ship vintage car parts all over the world! About 5 years ago, we planted 198 apple and pear trees behind our home, so our small orchard is a new hobby-business, as well. We have three dogs – a white mini-poodle named Fritz, a black Scottish Terrier named Mollie, and a wheaton-colored Scottie named Winston.
I look forward to getting to know you and your children and supporting them, their teachers, and Mr. Samples this school year! Go Kruse Cougars!
I attended the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley and earned my degree in English with endorsements to teach Elementary Education and English as a Second Language. I earned my Master’s degree in Educational Leadership at UNC, also.
I grew up in LaSalle, Colorado, a small town just south of Greeley, Colorado, and I went to school with almost all the same kids from Kindergarten through high school.
My husband and I enjoy camping at our cabin in Red Feather Lakes, hiking, and traveling around the country visiting museums and national parks, meeting new people, and visiting with old friends in our restored Studebakers towing Airstream trailers. I also like gardening, sewing, reading, and hanging out with friends!
I have too many favorites! (Maybe The Real Mother Goose?)
